How the EON Sphere E90 helps in everyday life

The busy restaurant, the family dinner, the pub
This is what the EON Sphere is built for. A dedicated AI chip (Phonak’s HYPERSONIC™) listens to everything around you, picks out the voices and rebuilds them cleanly on top of the background noise — from any direction, not just the person in front of you. On the E90 this runs automatically at its strongest setting: the aids notice the noise level rising and step in on their own, so you can stay in the conversation rather than fiddling with your phone.

Quiet talkers and people who mumble
The E90 adds Speech Enhancer, which gently lifts soft speech in calm rooms — the grandchild across the room, the receptionist behind the screen. On the E70 and E50 you get Phonak’s standard quiet-room settings instead.

Walks, the seafront, cycling, the school run
WindBlock 2.0 cuts wind noise by up to 50 dB before it reaches your ear, so a breezy walk does not turn into a roar and you can still hear the person beside you.

Moving through your day without touching anything
AutoSense OS™ AI 8.0 checks your surroundings around 700 times a second and blends the right settings — quiet room, café, car, music — so the aids simply follow you from the kitchen to the car to the office.

Comfort and discretion
The EON is 25% smaller and 20% lighter than the previous Sphere. It sits neatly behind the ear, works well with glasses, and is rated IP68 against dust, sweat and rain — a downpour or a gym session is nothing to worry about.

Phone calls, TV and music
Bluetooth streams calls, music and TV straight into both ears from iPhone, Android, laptops and tablets — you can keep up to 8 devices paired and 2 connected at once. Calls are truly hands-free: the aids’ own microphones pick up your voice, so the phone can stay in your pocket. Add a Phonak TV Connector for the TV, and it is Auracast™-ready for the broadcast audio arriving in theatres, airports and gyms.

E90, E70 or E50 — which one is right for you?

All three share the same chip, the same app, the same battery, the same Bluetooth and the same slim body. The difference is how the speech-in-noise intelligence is delivered: on the E90 and E70 it switches on automatically, on the E50 you switch it on yourself, and the E90 alone adds help for very soft voices.

If you eat out, socialise in groups or work in busy places most weeks, the E90 is the one that earns its money.

Battery and charging

The EON Sphere is rechargeable only — no fiddly batteries. On a full charge you get up to 38 hours; a typical heavy day with around 8 hours of streaming lands at roughly 22 hours, still comfortably a full day and evening. A full charge takes about 2.5 hours, and a quick top-up while you shower gets you several hours. Until 31 October 2026 every EON Sphere pair ships with the Phonak portable charger instead of the standard plug-in charger — a free upgrade worth £369.95. It has its own built-in battery and gives you about three extra full charges without a plug socket, ideal for weekends away. Single aids come with the standard desktop charger.

Calls, TV and streaming

Phonak’s universal Bluetooth means it just works with your phone, whatever make it is, and with laptops, tablets and smart TVs too. Calls are hands-free with your voice picked up by the hearing aids themselves; you can answer and end a call with the button on the aid. Both Bluetooth Classic and the newer LE Audio are built in, and the aids are Auracast™-ready for public broadcast audio as venues switch it on. The EON works with Phonak’s Roger microphones for meetings and classrooms, and the TV Connector for direct TV sound. Note there is no telecoil on the EON — if you rely on hearing loops, tell us and we will advise.

The myPhonak app

Volume, programs, a personal equaliser and streaming control on your phone, plus the ability to save your favourite settings for specific places. It is also how we connect to you for free remote fine-tuning: a video call, a few adjustments, done — no clinic trip.
