Most invisible-style hearing aids come with two catches: they’re custom-moulded (so you wait weeks for manufacture), and they run on fiddly size-10 batteries that need changing every few days. The Signia Silk Charge&Go IX is Signia’s answer to both — a completely-in-canal hearing aid that is ready to wear the same day and charges overnight like your phone.

We fit a lot of these, and it remains one of the most interesting hearing aids you can buy online in the UK — not least because very few UK retailers stock it at all. Here’s our honest take.

What it is

The Silk Charge&Go IX is a CIC (completely-in-canal) hearing aid that sits inside your ear canal rather than behind your ear. Instead of a custom mould, it wears a soft silicone Click Sleeve — pick the right size, click it on, and the aid fits. Four sizes cover the overwhelming majority of ears, which is what makes same-day wearing possible.

It’s built on Signia’s Integrated Xperience (IX) platform — the same generation as the Pure and Styletto ranges — with processing designed around real-time conversation: the aid continuously analyses the voices around you and sharpens the ones you’re facing.

What we like

  • Genuinely discreet. Sitting in the canal, it’s hidden from almost every angle. If your worry is “I’m not ready to look like I wear hearing aids,” this is the answer.
  • Rechargeable — a first for this style. No more battery drawers. The pocket-sized case charges the aids overnight and holds extra charges for weekends away.
  • Instant fit. No impressions, no two-week wait for a custom shell. Order, we program to your audiogram, and you’re wearing them the day they arrive.
  • Natural conversation focus. The IX platform is at its best in one-to-one and small-group conversation — precisely where in-canal aids have historically been weakest.

What to consider

  • Very small aids suit mild-to-moderate losses best. If your audiogram shows a severe loss, a receiver-in-canal aid like the Pure Charge&Go IX will serve you better.
  • In-canal means in-contact with wax. You’ll change wax guards and sleeves a little more often than with behind-the-ear styles — a £4.99 pack of filters every month or so keeps the sound crisp.
  • Streaming is not its party trick. If all-day Bluetooth audio matters to you, the Pure Charge&Go with its universal connectivity is the better tool.

Prices

We sell the Silk Charge&Go IX at every technology level: from £560 for a single aid, £1,075 a pair (1IX) up to £2,310 a pair (7IX). As with everything we sell, that includes programming to your hearing test, a 5-year warranty, free remote aftercare, a 60-day money-back trial, and Klarna at checkout. High-street prices for the same family run well beyond £3,000 a pair — see our full UK price guide.

Verdict

The Silk Charge&Go IX is the best “nobody needs to know” hearing aid you can currently buy without a custom mould — and the rechargeable case removes the last genuinely annoying thing about tiny hearing aids. For mild-to-moderate, high-frequency losses (the most common kind), it’s an easy recommendation. For severe losses or heavy streamers, look at the Pure Charge&Go IX instead — and if budget is the priority, the battery-powered Silk X starts at £760 a pair.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Signia Silk Charge&Go IX really invisible?
It sits fully in the canal, so it’s effectively invisible from the front and side in most ears. Visibility depends on your ear canal shape.

How long does the battery last?
A full overnight charge comfortably covers a full day’s wear; the case carries additional charges for travel.

Do I need ear impressions?
No — it uses soft Click Sleeves in four sizes instead of a custom mould, which is why it can be worn the same day.

Who shouldn’t choose the Silk?
Severe-to-profound losses, and anyone who wants extensive Bluetooth streaming — the Pure Charge&Go IX handles both better.

How much does it cost in the UK?
From £1,145 a pair at Aid My Hearing (July 2026), including audiologist programming, 5-year warranty and a 60-day trial.
